An Introduction to Social Enterprise Workshop will be delivered at the Goldmine Centre as part of a series of GEW events being held at the Goldmine Centre through a partnership between The Vine Trust, SWEDA, Walsall Studio School, Mr Franchise, Walsall Council & Micro Tyco. 

This workshop will seek to explain the following: 

* What is a Social Enterprise * How to set up a Social Enterprise * How to register your Social Enterprise and the associated costs * Developing an effective board / trustees

This workshop will look at the following: 

*What Is Franchising? * Deciding what franchise is right for you * Start Up Costs / Raising Finance

A workshop regarding the development of Social Enterprise Zones in the Black Country with members of the ACE network. at the Goldmine Centre as part of a series of GEW events being held at the Goldmine Centre through a partnership between The Vine Trust, SWEDA, Walsall Studio School, Mr Franchise, Walsall Council & Micro Tyco. 

Friday 22nd November - 2.00 - 3.30pm - Social Enterprise Zone – GEW Closing Event

We will be announcing the results of the activity run over Global enterprise week in the zone. * There will be market stalls and stands from Micro Tyco participants. * Closing Keynote speakers

Black Country European Investment Strategy

On the 13th September The Social Enterprise Zone hosted the Local Enterprise Partnership's first summit for Social Enterprise. Chaired by LEP board member Dr Chris Handy, a series of workshops and networking activity sought to develop a coherent Socio-economic vision for the Black Country. 

The Vine Trust and YMCA Black Country, outlined their Social Enterprise zones in Walsall and Sandwell respectively, as a template for 21st century living and 'good' economic growth. 

In addition to Nigel Kershaw of Big Issue Invest (keynote speaker) we heard from the 'Social Innovation Park' Spain, who will be twining with the regions social enterprise zones. ...watch this space!
